Operation: Veteran Outreach
Veterans Day, November 11, 2007
This outreach was like no other. The teens made hundreds of personalized cards and letters to give out to the hospitalized veterans at the V.A. Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Organized and by the Youth Director Brian Hargis, a U.S. Army Special Forces Master Sergeant, the teens canvassed the entire hospital and took time to meet and greet every veterans available. We thanked them for their service to our country, and left them with cards and letters of appreciation.
Youth Minister Joe Miller stated, "You should have seen the tears in the eyes of some of those old veterans. Many of them could not speak because they were so overwhelmed with gratitude."
Master Sergeant Hargis wrote a Gospel message for veterans, which features a true account story of his grandfather who is a D-Day, WWII Veteran. Click here to read....
