What a blessing to have such a great facility for this year's campmeeting. For the first time, our junior church services could be held inside, and
let me tell you, the workers and kids were VERY grateful for that. The air conditioner worked so well that a few of the services almost needed electric
blankets handed out. Every person in attendance could be seated comfortably - no more folding chairs in the aisles or church members watching the
service downstairs on a huge TV.
One of the highlights of this meeting was being able to see Dr. Don Green again. He and his wife drove down Monday and he preached that night; they drove
back to Michigan the next day, all the way up to Charlevoix to his son, Jim Green's, campmeeting. Every preacher there was a blessing in one way or another,
and God encouraged people through the singing all week. While Dr. Green was there, Pastor Gresham had all the preachers stand up in the choir loft so
people could take pictures. You can download a 1200x900 picture by clicking on the thumbnail below. Depending on how fast you internet connection is, the
picture may take a while to load.
An electrical fire during the Tuesday morning service necessitated the evacuation of the building. Stephen Estep played "Set My Soul Afire" on the piano as
everybody went outside. We finished the service in the parking lot, singing a song or two, and hearing a message by Phil Schipper. Videos of that can be
found below the pictures. We're thankful nobody was hurt because of the fire. Parts of the building, including the fellowship hall, were out of commission
until Thursday, but services went on with nary a hitch. The electrical problems have been fixed, of course, and we're looking forward to next year's
campmeeting with everything working and in its proper place.
