Montgomery County and Greene County Jail Ministries
Charity Baptist Church has been involved in local jails since 1993. We preach, disciple and encourage the inmates, and provide them with free Bibles and Mailbox Club
Bible studies. Our Pastor, Tom Gresham started the ministry with a handful of help, and currently oversees the project with the aid of Assistant Pastor Brian Hargis.
Each week, members from our church preach, conduct services and follow-up on converts.
Charity oversees all religious programs for the Greene County Jail system. Pastor Gresham is the head chaplain for Greene County, as well as the head chaplain for
the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. He is the point of contact for applications to become a chaplain for Greene County.
David Charles Spurgeon is one of those saved from our jail ministry. He was an officer of the second largest motorcycle gang in the world, The Outlaws. After
having his door kicked off its hinges one morning by the ATF, DEA and FBI, God put him in a place where he could listen. Click here to read the entire story.
