Dr. Greg Estep is the founder of Charity Baptist Church and Charity Baptist Bible Institute. The church was started in May of 1977 in Dr. Estep's
garage. After outgrowing the garage, the property at 1506 North Fairfield Road in Beavercreek was purchased late in 1977.
In 1978, Dr. Estep founded the Charity Baptist Bible Institute and Seminary, which today runs over 500 students worldwide.
Dr. Estep's vision to reach the world with the gospel has been realized through a massive mission program and shipping ministry.
By 2005, the shipping ministry had sent over 123 containers (basically, 20- or 40-foot semi trailers without the wheels) of Bibles and gospel
literature to foreign countries. Through the ministry
of Dr. Estep, numerous men and women have been trained and sent throughout the world as missionaries, pastors, teachers, and evangelists.
Countless souls have trusted Christ as their Savior because of one man's vision to evangelize the world. Dr. Estep retired in 2001 and Dr. Thomas
Gresham (the church's assistant pastor) was selected as pastor, and Dr. Estep was given the title of Pastor Emeritus. Dr. Estep still preaches
occasionally at Charity and at other churches.
